Dawn Hoffman, 59, of Stickney, SD, peacefully passed away Sunday, February 11, 2024, at her home in Stickney. Funeral arrangements are pending under the direction of Bittner Funeral Chapel.
Dawn Renee Hoffman was born to Carl and Caryl (Dethlefsen) Assmus on July 4, 1964, in Mitchell, SD. She spent her formative years on the family farm near Stickney, SD, where her love for music and animals blossomed. Dawn graduated from Stickney High School in 1982 and continued her academic journey, earning a degree from Dakota Wesleyan University in 1986.
During her time at Dakota Wesleyan, she crossed paths with Randy Hoffman, and on September 18, 1987, they united in marriage at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Stickney. After the arrival of their first child, Damian, in 1988, the couple decided to embrace the small-town life they both cherished. They returned to Stickney, where they laid down their roots.
Dawn's family expanded with the birth of their second child, Carlie, in 1993. Subsequently, they chose to move to the family farm where Dawn herself had grown up, where the sounds of music and the presence of beloved pets continued to be an integral part of their lives.
Dawn is survived by her loving husband, Randy, and their children, Damian and Carlie. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Her memory will forever resonate with those who knew her, a reflection of a life well-lived in the embrace of family, pets, and the melodies that brought joy to her heart.
