Daniel “Dan” Charles Ware passed away on September 14, 2018, in Sioux Falls, SD due to health complications at the age of 66.
Dan was born on August 8 in Mitchell SD to Ralph and Bernadette (Herrmann) Ware. He graduated from Mitchell High School and Mitchell Technician Institute with a certificate in automotive. He worked a variety of skilled-trade positions throughout the years including employment with Puetz Construction, Mitchell School District, Dakota Pork, and Hendrickson Trailer.
On November 27, 1976, he married Therese Freidel. Over the next ten years, the couple welcomed two children into their home. Dan set about teaching them how to strike up a conversation with anyone. He was a talkative individual who loved mystery shows and was passionate about riding his motorcycle. He was a long time member of the ABATE organization. His children remember him as a supportive father who encouraged and assisted them in the pursuit of their dreams and goals.
Dan is survived by his wife, Therese of Mitchell, son, Carl (Karney) Ware of Sioux Falls, daughter, Julia (Waylon) Skelton of Rapid City, sister, Kathy (Michael) Carrier, Custer, two grandsons Alistair Skelton and Kaiser Ware, and numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, older brother, Joseph, and nephew, Aaron Carrier.
A Visitation will be from 5-7:00 pm Monday, September 24 at the Bittner Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be 10:30 am Tuesday, September 25 at the Bittner Funeral Chapel in Mitchell with the Father Kenneth Koster, Dan’s cousin, officiating. Inurnment will be at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum in Mitchell with a luncheon to follow at the Bittner Funeral Chapel.
