LaVonne (Moke) Bracha was born on September 4, 1938 on a farm South of Mt. Vernon, SD to Albert and Elsie (Klipsch) Moke. Growing up she worked on the family farm and attended school at Baker #41, riding a horse and buggy to school with her little brother. She moved to Mitchell and started working at the Methodist Hospital. She married the love of her life, Kenny Bracha, on May 28, 1960 in Pipestone, MN. The couple moved to the Black Hills. On March 8, 1979, Kenny went to be with the Lord. LaVonne continued to live in the Black Hills until her retirement, when she moved back to the farm.
LaVonne truly loved the outdoors and all animals. She was an avid bird watcher and feeder, loved country music, and enjoyed spending time with her Pomeranian, Sammy. Her nieces and nephews were the love of her life and she will treasure them in her heart forever.
LaVonne’s faith was very strong. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hillside, SD by Pastor Tecklenburg.
She is survived by one sister, Leona Stampe; sister-in-law, Gelene Moke; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, two brothers, two sisters and a niece.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Avera Queen of Peace Cancer Society.
