Mark Ripp, 81, of Dimock, SD, died Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell, SD. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Saturday, July 17, at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Dimock. Burial will be at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery in Dimock. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 PM Friday, July 16, at the Church with a 7:30 PM Scripture Service. Arrangements by Bittner Funeral Chapel.
Mark H Ripp was born February 2, 1940 to Henry and Bertha (Kabeiseman) Ripp of Dimock, SD. He attended St. Peter & Paul Catholic Grade School and Parkston High School. Mark also attended SDSU.
Mark was united in marriage to Darlene (Ruden) Ripp on October 15, 1960. All their life, Mark and Darlene farmed and raised their family on the family Registered Holstein farm near Dimock.
Mark was a member of the State and National Holstein Association and served as co-chairman of the National Holstein Convention in 1991. Mark showed Holsteins at the South Dakota State Fair for many years. He Participated at the World Dairy Expo as a spectator and competitor in Madison, WI. Mark also enjoyed judging many County and State Fairs in South Dakota, North Dakota, and Colorado. He was on the Dimock Cheese Factory Board as a board member for several years.
Mark is survived by his wife, Darlene; three children, David (Donna) Ripp of Dimock, James (Karla) Ripp of Dimock, and Jean Ripp of Parkston; seven grandchildren: Jared, Larissa, Jenna, Austin, Andrew, Ryan, Kellie, and Marissa; and one great-grandchild, Kendall.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marie; four brothers, William, Jerome, Thomas, and Fr. Joseph Ripp; along with one child, Michael Ripp.
