Myrna Irene Moschell was born April 29, 1934, at Howard, SD, to William and Alma (Stangohr) Moschell.  She was baptized at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Howard, SD, and was confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church, Howard, SD, where she attended Luther League during high school.  She attended grade school at Roswell, SD, and graduated from Fedora High School in 1952.  Myrna attended General Beadle State Teachers College, Madison, SD, and graduated with a two-year teaching degree in 1954.  While in college, she pitched for an unbeaten Howard softball team.  She taught third grade at Hurley, SD, for four years and was a member of the South Dakota Education Association.

Myrna married the love of her life, Howard Moore, at Bethany Lutheran Church, Howard, SD, on December 21, 1957.  To this union four children were born.  Howard and Myrna raised their four children in Artesian, SD, and moved to Mitchell, SD, in 2012.

Myrna was a member of First Lutheran Church in Artesian.  She was a Ladies Aid member and taught Sunday School for many years.  Myrna was always ready to serve a hot cup of coffee and a homemade dessert to anyone who stopped in to visit.  She had a talent for hairstyling and gave many home perms and haircuts to family and neighbors.  Talented in the kitchen as well, she was particularly well-known for her delicious gravies that accompanied the meats at her table.  Best of all was the turkey gravy at her Thanksgiving table.  Myrna’s bunny cakes were always a hit at Easter.

She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and loved to buy fun toys and read lots of stories to them.  She delighted in attending their school and community activities, including sports and 4-H activities.  Myrna loved to hold her great-grandchildren and enjoyed their hugs and kisses.  She proudly displayed their artwork in her home.

Myrna is survived by Howard, her husband of 63 years; daughter, Chloe (Mads) Andenas, Howard, SD; stepdaughter, Kirsten (Reggie) Aligada and children, Ruby and Zadie, of St. Paul, MN; son, Jerry (Pam) Moore, Artesian, SD, and their children, Rachelle (Brennan), Freeman, SD, and Dillon (Harley) Moore, Artesian, SD, and their children, Jade and Ryder, and Jerry’s son Josh Moore, Mitchell, SD; son, Roger (Judy) Moore, Minong, WI; daughter, Cheryl (Roger) Schmit, Artesian, SD, and their children, Ashley (Wes) Vander Pol, Brookings, SD, and Austin, Artesian, SD; sister, Elda Briggs, Kokomo, IN; brother, Richard (Bonnie) Moschell, Kenosha, WI; and sisters-in-law, Virginia Moschell, Raeburn Moore, and Mary Bechen.
