Catherine M. Kohlenberg passed away peacefully with her family by her side on August 29, 2014 after a long, couragous battle with cancer. Cathy was born October 1, 1953 to Neil and Betty (Sandeen) Davis. She was raised on a dairy farm near Rewey, WI and graduated from Iowa-Grant High School in 1971. On March 25, 1972 she married Greg Kohlenberg in Platteville, WI. They started their life together farming in southwest Wisconsin before moving to Platteville in 1980. In 1984, they moved their family to start a new chapter in Mitchell, SD.

Cathy was known for cooking many delicious recipes for her loved ones. She also enjoyed cross-stitching and reading. For 11 years, Cathy put her heart and soul into her gift store, Dakota Sue, on Main Street in Mitchell until 1999 when she sold the store to spend more time with her family. Cathy was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her favorite thing in the world was to spend time with her seven grandchildren.
Cathy is survived by her husband of forty two years, Greg Kohlenberg; her sons: Brian (Rachel) Kohlenberg of Florence, SD, Scott (Nora) Kohlenberg of Mitchell, SD; daughter, Rebecca (Jason) Warner of Albertville, MN; seven grandchildren: Karter, Markie, Amber, Aaron, Logan, Brynn and Dylan; one sister, Barb (Corey) Christenson of Westby, WI; two brothers, John (Ann) Davis of Joliet, IL, Jim (Theresa) Davis of Montfort, WI; her mother-in-law, Lorraine Kohlenberg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
