Norma Marie Kristensen was born on Good Friday, April 2, 1926 in White Lake to Charles and Christina (Jacobson) Steffen. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church. She graduated from White Lake High School in 1944 and attended college at Springfield. Norma taught school in Storla for a brief time and then moved to St. Paul, MN where she was employed by Wall Master as a secretary for twelve years. On June 15, 1957 she married Robert Kristensen. They farmed and raised livestock on the family farm southeast of White Lake until 1995 when they retired and moved into White Lake. Norma was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the White Lake Community. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and served on the Aurora Brule Nursing Home Board for many years. Norma enjoyed playing the piano and accordion and was the church organist for over 60 years. She was an organist for hundreds of weddings and funerals. She enjoyed working in her yard and raising flowers. The joys of her life were her grand and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert, daughter, Bonny (Craig) Hansen, Mitchell, son, Lennis (Linda) Kristensen, White Lake, five grandchildren: Amber (Brandon) Eberhard, Hartford, Bob (Alison) Hansen, Mitchell, Brenna (Scott) Clites, White Lake, Kelsey Hansen, Winona, MN, Lacey (Jess) Wieczorek, Stickney, five great-grandchildren: Easton, Blaire and Avery Eberhard, Carlee Hansen, Griffin Clites, sister, Lois (Glenn) Page, Manteca, CA, sister-in-law, Betty Kristensen and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and their spouses: Ervin and Lois Steffen, Elmer and Doris Steffen, Herbert and LaVerne Steffen, Marvin Steffen, one sister, Loretta and Walt Labahn and one niece, Stephanie Labahn.
