David Elmer Wadleigh was born March 21, 1936 in Brownsville, NE to Elmer and Mabel (Sipe) Wadleigh and attended Avery School by Mt. Vernon. He met his wife, Roseline (Johnson) on a double blind date and they were married June 6, 1971. They were blessed with one daughter, Amber.
In December 1968 he started working at Dakota Manufacturing in Mitchell as a welder. He was in the National Guard from 1956-1963. He owned and flew a Taylorcraft airplane from 1954 to the mid 70's. He was a member of the Church of Christ, Mitchell, where he was a song leader for many years. David was a quiet man, who enjoyed many things like working outside, old westerns, and traveling with his family.
His survivors include his wife of forty-four years, Roseline; daughter, Amber (Josh) Sinkie, Mt. Vernon, SD; two granddaughters, Brynna and Cassidy; three brothers: Dale (Vangie) of Cheyenne, WY, Gene (Cindy) of Casper, WY, Jerry (Darlene) of Mt. Vernon, SD; one sister-in-law, Karen Wadleigh of Mt. Vernon, SD and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Richard.
He will be greatly missed.
