Margaret Anne Moe


December 14, 1921 - January 8, 2017



Margaret Anne Moe was born December 14, 1921 to Walter B. Blakeslee and Minnie (Sleicher) Blakeslee in Eddyville, Nebraska.  She attended Eddyville school, graduating in 1939.  She went on to school for bookkeeping and after graduation moved to California with her sister Phyllis, where Margaret worked as a timekeeper for McDonnell-Douglas.  Later she moved to Council Bluffs, Iowa and worked as a bookkeeper for Union Carbon and Carbide where she met her future husband, Earl Moe.  They were married December 18, 1948 in Council Bluffs and Margaret continued to work for Union Carbon and Carbide until they welcomed their first child, Roy Allen in 1951.  Shortly after they bought a farm 13 miles north of Alexandria, SD and worked it until 1999. During that time they welcomed two more children, Walter, (1954) and Cheri, (1957). They then built a house in Fulton, SD in 1999 and retired there, later moving from there to Mitchell, SD to a town home. In 2013, due to the passing of her husband, Earl, Margaret moved to Silverleaf Assisted Living in Philip, SD.  In 2015 she moved to the Philip Nursing Home. 

Margaret is survived by a son, Walter A. Moe (Bonita), and a daughter, Cheri L. Heeb (Dean); six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.  She was preceded in passing by her husband, Earl G. Moe, a son, Roy Allen Moe; two sisters:  Barbara Krueger and Phyllis Hamer and one brother, Walter Blakeslee, Jr..

so sorry for your loss. I did hair for your Mom and Dad until they moved into Mitchell, always had good visits about her flowers. Margaret was such a nice lady.

Margaret was a very special lady. Always enjoyed her so much at Silverleaf. Loved her smile. RIP Margaret. So sorry for your loss.
