Violet Ordella (Fristad) Moline was born on September 22, 1924 on a farm near Storla, SD to Reinert and Olevina (Carlson) Fristad, Norweigan immigrants. She was the youngest of fourteen children. She attended rural schools near Storla and graduated from Letcher High School in 1942. She worked at the Mitchell Produce and later at JC Penney’s for four years. Violet married Robert W. Moline of Kimball, SD September 22, 1950 at Storla Lutheran Church in Storla. Violet and Bob farmed in rural Kimball until they retired in 1988 and moved to Mitchell. She was a member of Lutheran Brethan Church in Platte, SD, and the Mitchell Wesleyan Church in Mitchell, SD. She taught Sunday school for many years. She also was involved in the Christian Women’s Club.
She is survived by one son, Kim (Brenda) Moline of Rapid City, SD; one daughter, RaVaye Moline of Mitchell, SD; three grandchildren: Kathrine (Drew) Stevens of Yankton, SD, Laurel (Derek) Hanson of Elk Point, SD, Tessie (Christian) Hawkins of Rapid City, SD; one sister, Agnes Peters of Mitchell, SD and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, parents seven sisters and five brothers.
