Tammie DeJong, 59, of Mitchell died, Monday, October 30, 2017. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, November 13, 2017 at the Bittner Funeral Chapel in Mitchell. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Mitchell. Visitation will be from 1-3:00 PM Sunday at the Bittner Funeral Chapel.
Tammie Jo DeJong was born February 5, 1958 to Harold and Edithe (Hawkins) Brenden in Sioux Falls. Tammie grew up and graduated from Norfolk High School in Norfolk NE in 1976. She married Curtis Dumas. After high school she began working for McDonald’s in Norfolk, North Platte, York, and Lexington, Nebraska. She graduated from Hamburger University. She married Loren Todd and they moved to Alexandria. She worked for McDonald’s in Mitchell for a number of years. She managed several businesses and owned TLC Bar and Grill in Mitchell. She married Larry DeJong. Tammie loved her grandchildren and was a beloved sister.
She is survived by her children Ami McKenzie (Darren) of Fort Collins, CO, Daniel (Kyleena) Dumas of Mitchell, Logan (Brooke) Todd of Sioux Falls; four grandchildren, Brayden McKenzie, Garrett and Olivia Dumas, and London Todd; one sister Nancy (Edgar) Baker; and two brothers Rocky (Diane) Brenden of Mitchell, and Skip (Colleen) Brenden of Pukwana.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one infant brother, Dale; and husband Larry in 2017.
