Duaine Pfann, 81, of Mitchell died, Monday, December 18, 2017 at Avera Brady Health and Rehab in Mitchell. Funeral services will be 12:00PM Saturday, December 23, 2017 at the Bittner Funeral Chapel with Pastor Rebecca Gresham-Kesner officiating. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Servicemen’s Memorial Cemetery in Mitchell at a later date. Arrangements by Bittner Funeral Chapel.
Duaine Andrew “Foxy” Pfann was born June 26, 1936 in Parkston, SD to George and Esther (Thuringer) Pfann. He attended grade school in Parkston and graduated from Parkston High School. He served in the US Army from September 1956 to October 1957. On October 25, 1958 he married Darla Juhnke at Milltown Church. He was employed with Northwestern Public Service Co for 33 years and retired at the age of 58. He was a member of the Moose Lodge since 1982. Duaine loved to hunt and fish, and enjoyed all sports, especially the Minnesota Twins and Vikings.
He is survived by his wife, Darla, Mitchell; children: Terry Pfann, Salem; Craig Pfann, Mitchell; Vicki, Akaska; and Cindy (Tim) Allen, Mitchell; two grandchildren Travis (Angie) Allen, Watertown, and Trevor Allen, Mitchell; two great-grandchildren, Marcus and Madison, Watertown; brother George (Jeannie) Pfann, Longwood, FL; and sister Elaine Tremmel, Minnetonka, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers-in-law.
