Sidney “Sid” Uptagrafft, 82, Mitchell, died Monday, January 8, 2018 at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, January 13 at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Mitchell. Burial will be in Servicemen’s Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 pm Friday with a prayer service at 7:30 pm at the Resurrection Lutheran Church. Arrangements are with the Bittner Funeral Chapel in Mitchell.

Sidney Ranae Uptagrafft was born April 20, 1935 at home on the farm in Miner County to Joshua and Maxine (Houmas) Eller. She grew up in Miner County graduating from high school. On June 17, 1956 she married Robert Uptagrafft. They made their home in Mitchell where Sid was employed by Montgomery Wards, the Mitchell Daily Republic, Commercial Bank, First National Bank and Fulton State Bank. Sid was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church where she was an active board member and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing cards.

She is survived by her daughter, Lori (David) Kluth of Mount Vernon, brother, Lanny (Sherry) Eller of Colorado Springs, CO, three grandchildren: Kim Kluth of Mitchell, Mike Kluth and Brian Kluth and fiancé Ellen Bucher of Mount Vernon, a great grandchild, Skylar Kluth and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert and a brother, Rodney.

Memorials are preferred to be made in lieu of flowers.

I am sadden to find this! I was looking for another obit when I came across Sid's. I loved working with her at Commercial Bank (back in the day) and currently as my insurance client. I will miss her. I will keep you all in my prayers as you make the adjustment without her. I am sorry for you loss.
