Arlene Faye Kayser was born March 19, 1953 in Parkston, SD to Edgar and Ruth (Schmeichel) Rose. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter’s Lutheran church at Clayton, SD. She attended country school in Hutchinson County and graduated from Scotland High School. Arlene was employed at the Corsica Bakery for many years. On October 12, 1985 she married Raymond Kayser at the United Methodist Church in Stickney. After moving to Stickney, Arlene opened her heart and home to numerous daycare children for over 25 years. Arlene’s dream of having a child of her own became a reality when God blessed her with a daughter and her stepchildren were loved like her own. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, family, friends, shopping with her twin sister, Irene, baking and then giving it away to staff at the Cancer Center, daycare families, and neighbors. She was a prankster with a hearty laugh, always had a smile on her face and was a joy to everyone she was around. She was a member of the Stickney United Methodist Church, where she and Kay were Communion Stewards and she was involved with the United Methodist Women, the American Legion Auxiliary and Modern Woodmen of America.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond “Kay” Kayser, her daughter, Taya Lynn (Nicholas) Christensen of Spearfish, stepchildren: Kurtis (JoAnn) Kayser, Wayne (Christine) Kayser of Aberdeen, Sherrie Wagner and significant other, Mike Berg of Tripp, Carrie (Jim) Gunn of Council Bluffs, IA, Steven (Kristi) Kayser of Mitchell, 14 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, her mother, Ruth Rose of Scotland, sister, Irene (Frank) Hoadley of Mitchell and brother, Allen (Tamara) Rose of Foley, AL.

She was preceded in death by her father, Edgar Rose.

We hold Arlene in the highest regard....what a remarkable and inspirational lady. She fought an illness with dignity and an insatiable zest for life, living every moment to the fullest. We are so fortunate to have Taya in our family and to have known Arlene as well.

Kay & family, Please accept our deepest condolences. In your time of sorrow, Know that God is there, He will hold you in His arms and wipe away your tears. He understands your pain; He feels the grief you feel, just give to Him your broken hearts, For He, in time, will heal. Love, Gene & Mavis

So much love fills my heart when I see that amazing smile!! Taya and Kay- love you both dearly. Such a strong foundation in the beginning lives of my 2 oldest boys. So sorry for your loss- she is a loss to the world! But God has to be laughing with her. He gave her that laugh and smile and now He gets to enjoy it face to face! Peace and love to you all!!!

I am sorry to hear of Arlene's passing. My sympathy goes to all of her family. I remember when Arlene, Kay & her mother came to Yankton for some shopping Lorraine & I would meet them for dinner. Arlene would always have a smile & have something funny to say, may she rest in peace.
I will not be able to attend as I am in Alabama for the winter.
Again I say that you have my sympathy.
