Beatrice “Joy” Bollock, 79, Mitchell died Friday, September 14, 2018 at Firesteel Healthcare Center.
Funeral services will be 10:30 am Thursday, September 20 at the Bittner Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 pm on Wednesday with a prayer service at 6:30 pm at the Bittner Funeral Chapel.
Beatrice “Joy” Bollock was born January 16, 1939 in Huron, SD to LeRoy and Evelyn (Theis) Atz. She attended Cain Creek Country School, riding horse every day that she could and graduated from Huron High School in 1957. She worked at a café and the Newberry Store in Huron for several years. She married James Lynch in 1959 and her son, Rick was born September 16, 1960. She married George Wilson in Mitchell. They showed horses at various shows around South Dakota. In 1983 she married Ronnie Bollock. They resided on a ranch west of Mitchell where they raised Longhorn Cattle for many years. Joy was very involved in raising and feeding the livestock.
She is survived by sister, Sharon Sowards of Rapid City, brother, George (Katina) Atz of Tacoma, WA three nieces: Dawn (Spencer) Merchant of Huron, Teresa Ertel of Rapid City, and Kelsie (Jimmy) Riley, WA; Ronnie’s children: Lonnie (Mary) Bollock, Jackie (Alan Wibben) Bollock and Troy (Bonnie) Bollock all of Mitchell, 8 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Joy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ronnie, and son Rick.
