Obituary

Lenita Bietz, 90, of Mitchell, SD died Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Firesteel Healthcare Center in Mitchell.

Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, November 21 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Mitchell. Burial will be at Parkston Protestant Cemetery in Parkston. Visitation will be 5-7:00 PM Tuesday at Bittner Funeral Chapel with a 6:00 PM Prayer Service.

Lenita Sophie Bietz was born March 2, 1928 to John and Hulda (Will) Fink. She grew up in the farming community near Delmont and attended country school.

On October 30, 1949 she married Norman Bietz at Hope Lutheran Church, Delmont. She was a long-time member of Hope Lutheran Church where she was involved in the women's group, taught Sunday School and volunteered.  She was a farm wife, worked at the Good Samaritan Home in Parkston, and the Blue Bird Locker in Delmont.  She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, embroidering, baking, traveling and playing cards.  She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids, taking the grandkids to Outlaw Ranch camping. Lenita and Norman retired from farming in 1990, but still resided on the farm until moving to Mitchell in 2003. She resided at Countryside Living.

She is survived by one son, Ken Bietz and his wife Yong of Eagan, MN; four grandchildren, Michael of Los Angeles CA, Matthew and wife Maribelle of Eagan MN, Mark of Eagan MN and Melissa of Phoenix AZ; a great-granddaughter, Sophia; a great grandson, Keian; and sister, Erna Grosz of Mitchell SD.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norman; and brothers, Alvin, Werner, Paul and Herbert.

She will be truly missed.

Memorials may be made to the South Dakota Parkinson Foundation, 1000 North West Avenue, Suite 220, Sioux Falls, SD 57104.

Ken and Yong, so sorry to hear about your Mom. She was always delight and lovely lady. Such s gentle, kind person with s beautiful laugh. Cherished memories of your parents coming to Arizona and always sure to look us up! Can’t wait to look her up in heaven someday!!

You will always have wonderful memories of your beloved Mother and you were always so caring towards her. She will be watching over you with love. The passing of a Mother is very difficult but you can be comforted in the knowledge you will see her again one day.
