Teri was an adventure waiting to happen. Teri Lynn Brockman was born on May 5, 1956 to Robert and Gloria Brockman, she grew up in Wessington Springs, SD, graduating from Wessington Springs High School in 1974. Shortly after completing a Radiology program in 1976 at McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, she moved to Wyoming to begin the next chapter of her life.
In Torrington, Wyoming, Teri worked as an X-Ray Technician at the Community Hospital. When she wasn't working you could find her tending to her plants, cooking, sewing, crafting, going on camping trips, or mingling with the local cowboy culture. She was successful in her career and she purchased her first home at the age of 24. She met her husband Claude in Torrington, and they fell in love with each other and with the vast landscape of the West. They were married May 25, 1985. The couple lived in Wyoming and New Mexico before moving to Idaho Falls, Idaho. In Idaho Falls Teri advanced her career at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center and gave birth to their son Cohen in 1986. The family moved to Mitchell in 1995, where she continued to follow her passion in Radiology at Queen of Peace Hospital. When a shoulder injury at work required her to change careers, she set forth on a new path that led to a career in local government. First, she worked at The Title Company as a Licensed Abstractor for the State of South Dakota. She served the public at the Register of Deeds in the Davison County courthouse since 2002.
Teri was never happier than on the road making an adventure. She loved to vacation with her family, often returning to the familiar peaks of the Teton Mountains and always traveling with her favorite camera to capture life's wonderful moments. She loved to grow plants and flowers and to watch wildlife. She was particularly fond of birds, especially hummingbirds.
Teri was known as a wonderful, kind person who would go out of her way to do for others. She was also a woman of extreme strength. As a young girl Teri developed scoliosis which took years to correct. She admired her physician and from this experience was inspired to pursue a career in Radiology. During her life she was diagnosed with and survived breast cancer. In 2010 she was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis and December 2017 with Myelodyplastic Syndrome (MDS).
Her tenacious spirit and love of life drove her forward always.
