Obituary

Eileen Webster, 90, Mitchell, died Thursday, April 25, 2019 at Avera Brady Health and Rehab.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Monday, April 29 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Mitchell. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services on Monday at the church. Arrangements are with the Bittner Funeral Chapel.

Eileen Mae Webster was born May 9, 1928 at Dell Rapids, SD to James and Mable (Hegna) Putnam. She grew up in Madison, MN where she attended and graduated from high school. On September 4, 1950 she married Eugene Webster in Madison, MN. They moved to Mitchell where Eileen attended St. Joseph School of Nursing and worked as a surgical nurse at St. Joseph until she began raising her family. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters, Holy Family Prayer Chain Group and was a Girl Scout Leader for numerous years.

She enjoyed crossword puzzles until she began losing her sight, after which she began listening to audio books by the hundreds. Eileen was a political junkie, and avid Rush Limbaugh fan.

She is survived by three daughters: Jayne (Bill) Rubendall of Mitchell, Kathie (Tom) Cooley of Austin, TX, Susan (Larry) Welch of Atlanta, TX, three sons: Terry (Becky) Webster of Inman, KS, Philip (Jacklyn) Webster of Seward, NE, Tom Webster of Mitchell, 10 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, two sisters: Vivian Hurley of Stillwater, MN, Joan LaHaye of Minneapolis, MN and one brother, Paul Putnam of St. Augustine, FL.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene, son, Patrick, daughter, Michele Franey and sister, Mary Jane Putnam.
