Kimberlee Harlan


August 27, 1954 - March 30, 2020


Kimberlee Harlan, 65, of Alexandria, SD, died Monday, March 30, 2020 at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital in Mitchell.  A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in American Legion Cemetery in Mitchell. Arrangements by Bittner Funeral Chapel.

Kimberlee Harlan was born on August 27, 1954 to Robert and Delores (Mattheis) Alexander. She lost her battle with cancer on March 30, 2020.

She was known as the “Green Thumb” amongst her family and friends. Kim enjoyed visiting green houses, and planting her many flowers.

Kimberlee was a fun-loving mom and grandmother that loved her family dearly. She enjoyed having family around for holidays and “just because” visits. Kim always looked forward to her annual “sisters” weekend, going to antique stores, and of course every greenhouse along the way.

She was employed with Bauer/DenTex for 25 years.

She leaves behind many memories, family, and her dog, Buffy.

Kimberlee is survived by her husband, Scott Harlan; sons, Jamey Crawford of Lincoln, NE, and Anthony (Christina) Crawford of Emery, SD; daughter, Kelly (Dale) Johnson of Dodge, NE; siblings, Robert Alexander of Deadwood, SD, Sheri Alexander of Parker, SD, Jill (Reg) Walter of Stevens Point, WI, Scott (Becky) Alexander of Eau Claire, WI; grandchildren, Nataley, Haven, Brooklynn, Brody, AJ, and Journey; and one great-grandchild, Jaxon.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Scott, although I did not know Kim, I do remember you speaking of her many times. You must have had a great marriage. My wife passed away 5 days before Kim passed. This will be a real tough time for the both of us. Let me know if you need anything.

I always loved it when she came to Nebraska to visit Dale, Kelly and Brody. She was always a lot of fun and one of the nicest person I know. You will be missed.
