Denise Lynn Schroeder

Denise Lynn Schroeder was born May 11, 1957 in Mitchell to Keith and Donna (Rayher) Nicholson. She graduated from Mitchell High School in 1975 and attended Sioux Falls Vo-Tech for business. On May 11, 1979 she married Mark Schroeder at Holy Family Catholic Church in Mitchell. She was employed by J C Penney’s for several years, Herter’s, Dog n Suds, the Emery Enterprise, waitressed and tended bar in Bridgewater, Emery and Alexandria and Cabela’s for the past number of years. She enjoyed cleaning, gardening, raising flowers, spending time with family and was also an avid crafter.

She is survived by her husband, Mark, four children: Naomi (Chris) Long, Sturgis; Jessica (Eric) Nebelsick, Sioux Falls; Sarah (Cory) Powell, Crooks; Lucas Schroeder, Alexandria; six grandchildren, her mother, Donna Nicholson, Mitchell; brothers: Kevin (Jeanne) Nicholson, Rapid City; Brett Nicholson, Redfield; Bartt (Jan) Nicholson, Sioux Falls; sisters: Brenda McPeek, Mitchell; Correne (Steve) Gordon, Montrose; Mary (Steve) Johnson, Jean Nicholson, Sioux Falls; Kris Nicholson, Minneapolis; brother-in-law, Steve Troglia, Show Low, AZ; sisters-in-law: Lisa (Bob) Harrington and Stacey (Stan) Graber, Sioux Falls; father and mother-in-law, J. Dale and Pat Schroeder, Alexandria and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Keith Nicholson and sister, Kathy Troglia.

i have such fond memories of denise in high school. she was quick to smile and had in infectious laugh. although it is difficult today to see beyond the sorrow, may memories help to ease the pain in the days ahead. my deepest sympathy on your loss.

To Mark and family and to Donna, What a sad, sad, time for all of us. I have a ton of special memories of school days that will always make me smile when I think of her. She is with the angels and will watch over all of her family now.

my thoughts an prayers are with you Mark and your kids.I worked with Denise at Vandykes .And memories of her will never be forgotten .As one on snowy days we use to call each other if weather was bad so we all could stay home.She was always a happy woman an full of smiles.
