Lori Kay Stork


December 29, 1963 - August 14, 2011


Lori Kay Stork was born in Parkston, SD to Elaine and John (Jack) Stork on December 29, 1963. She grew up in Mitchell and graduated in 1982 from Mitchell Senior High School where she was an avid tennis player. She then attended Bemidji State University in Bemidji, MN for two years.

She moved to Seattle WA and was a nanny for three special families for many years. She then drove bus for Microsoft and Metro Bus Service for seventeen years.

Lori loved to read, camp and look for new adventures to explore. She had a huge heart for the underprivileged and was well loved by many.

Thankful for having shared her life are her mother, Elaine Anderson of Mitchell; father, John (Jack) Stork of Chino Valley, AZ; three sisters: Jacqueline Arens of Wharton, TX, Ann Girard of Chino Valley AZ and Lisa Stork of Danville, VA and four brothers: Ralph and Jeff Stork of Mitchell, Paul Stork of Beasley, TX Brian Stork and wife, Barbara of Alexandria, SD; two step-sisters, Judy Middleton and husband, Bill of Reston, VA and Linda Anderson of Forest Knolls, CA and a step-brother, William Anderson of Oakland, CA; her special friends, Michelle Robinson, Dr. Thomas Gumprecht and children: Alex, Collin, Sasha and Maxi along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, cousins and friends. Lori is preceded in death by her stepfather, Wilmer (Bill) Anderson, stepmother, Eleanor Stork and two nephews, Travis Stork and Daniel Girard.

In looking through the archives of Bittner's website, I was shocked to see that Lori had died! We did not know of this tragic event and we grieve with you on the loss of your daughter! We feel a long lasting and fond connection with you and your children.

Please accept my condolences for the passing of Lori. I played many tennis matches with her when we were in high school and have many good memories of our 4th Street neighborhood! Blessed be Lori's memory.

I am so sorry for the Stork family with the passing of Lori. I have a lot of wonderful memories of Lori - she will be missed!
