Delia C. Huisinga was born to Harm and Jenny (Begeman) Krull on October 16, 1914 on a farm one mile north of Chancellor SD. She grew up in the Chancellor area and graduated from High School there in 1932. She attended what was then Eastern Normal and obtained a teaching certificate from that college. She also attended Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell. She was a rural teacher in Turner and Davison Counties. She was also employed by Dakota Wesleyan and was Assistant Treasurer of South Dakota Methodist Conference for a number of years.
On August 10, 1940 she was united in marriage to David Huisinga at Sioux Falls SD.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Mitchell and P.E.O., Chapter BK and the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her children: Berend (Barry) and wife, Ruth of Champlin, MN and Betty Jo and husband, James Rasmussen of Rapid City, SD; three grandchildren: Stacy Van Wychen, Teresa and Amanda Pendzimas and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David (1985); parents, sisters, Bertha (Herman) Uhe and an infant sister; brothers, Fred (Leah) Krull and Harley (Genevieve) Krull; two great-grandchildren, Alyssa Johnson and Adam VanWychen and grandson-in-law, Dontae Johnson.
