David Gene Johnson was born December 5, 1950 at Wessington Springs to John and Carolyne “Peggy” (Knigge) Johnson at Wessington Springs, SD.
He attended Patton School through the eighth grade and graduated in 1970 from White Lake High School. David enlisted in the US Army in July 1970 and was honorably discharged in Januaary 1972. He was a member of the American Legion.
David farmed and worked with Dakota Pride Transport until his death.
He is survived by three children: Jodi Harrison, Dimock; Troy Johnson, Colorado Springs, CO; Haleigh Johnson, Mitchell; two sisters: Nancy (Ted) Wiebe, Burns, KS; Gayle (Russ) Krumvieda, White Lake; three brothers: James Johnson, Worthington, MN; Leon (Bonnie) Johnson, Sioux Falls; Mike (Peggy) Johnson, Mitchell and three grandchildren: Amber, Devlin and Zoey Harrison.
