Myrtle Marie Terveen was born April 22, 1921 north of Bridgewater to Ben and Marie (Lauck) Dorale. She was baptized and confirmed in the Zion Lutheran Church in Bridgewater. She grew up on the farm near Bridgewater until moving with her parents to a farm north of Spencer in 1938. On January 22, 1945 she married Floyd Terveen at Emery. They farmed north of Emery until retiring in 1997 and then moved to Bridgewater.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy Kay (David) Chilman, Greenville, SC; four grandchildren: Aaron (Mandi) Terveen, Belle Fourche; Elissa (Glenn) Walz, Mitchell; Adam Terveen, Colorado Springs, CO and Kari Ann (Justin) Ballew, Greenville, SC; five great-grandchildren: Olivia and Madison Walz, Braydon and Hudson Terveen and Keegan Ballew; two sisters: Esther (Melvin) Meinen, Mitchell and Lavon Zelmer and one brother, Donald (Jean) Dorale, Bridgewater and numerous relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd in 1998, her son, Virgil in 1992, three brothers: Walter, Leroy and Albert and his wife Virginia, one sister, Mabel (Robert) Jacobsen, niece, Peggy Dorale, sister-in-law, Gladys Terveen, and brother-in-law, Harold Zelmer.
