Obituary

Ken Bauman, 70, of Mitchell, SD, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2024 at his home in Mitchell. A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, March 16, 2024, from 2-5:00 PM at The Depot in Mitchell. Burial will be at Silver Ridge Cemetery in Ponca, NE at a later date.

Kenneth Bauman was born November 28, 1953, in Sioux City, IA. The eldest son of Jerome and Marilyn (Harder) Bauman. He was raised in Sioux City and graduated from Leeds High School in 1972. After graduation, Ken began his career in the plumbing & heating industry in the Siouxland area. His career path led him to his most recent position as an estimator with Krohmer Plumbing in Mitchell, SD.

On June 17, 1977, Ken married Trudy (Holdenried) in Sioux City, IA. During their marriage they had three children. Ken's memory will live on with his daughter, Tricia Bauman; son, Charles (Ashley) Bauman; granddaughters, Tayler and Teryne Bauman; sister, Susie (Daniel) Schlumbaum; brother, Michael Bauman; niece, Michelle Banks; nephews, Brian Galvin, Eric Skogen, Mark Bauman, Jim Bauman, Doug Bauman, and Scott Bauman; former wife, Trudy Bauman; and special friend, Karen Rieffenberger.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, infant son, in-laws (Henry and Patty Holdenried), and sister-in-law (Debbie Bauman).

Ken's greatest passion in life was his work. He also enjoyed many RV trips to the Black Hills, camping, gambling in Vegas, and riding his Harley. Ken will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A very special thank you to all of his work family at Kromer Plumbing and Bittner Funeral Chapel. Your support, kindness, and compassion will never be forgotten.

RIP my friend:I am the lucky one to have known you.All the memory of trip,work and family.Ken love going to this sister Susie for the weekend.He love her so much.He would sent me pictures of them having a great time.We have lot of laughs,tear and memory that I will always remember.I will miss you my friend.
