Steven Charles Boyd was born on December 2, 1957, to Jerry and Sharon (Hohbach) Boyd in Mitchell, SD. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Plankinton. He graduated from Plankinton High School in 1976. Steve loved playing football and spending time with his many friends. After graduating, Steve and some of his friends toured the Midwest on their motorcycles. In August of 1976, Steve joined the US Army and served his country for five years. He spent the majority of his service time overseas in Germany.

Upon returning home, Steve used his skills and talents in the construction business, which led him to Oklahoma and Texas where he met his wife, Sandra Hoover. They were united in marriage on October 19, 1985, in Oklahoma City. They were blessed with four children. Steve and his family soon moved to Graeagle, CA, where they stayed for over ten years. Later, Steve and his family relocated to South Dakota where he worked at Ethan Lumber. Most recently he was employed at American Crystal Sugar in Crookston, MN.

Steve loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, camping, and gardening. He also loved antiquing, always finding gifts for his family and friends. Steve was very generous and was always willing to give of his time and talents. He could fix anything. Steve had a great smile and an infectious laugh. He always loved visiting family and friends, and was known for giving the best hugs.

Grateful for having shared his life are his parents, Jerry and Sharon; children, Christopher (Sheena) Boyd of Tripp, SD, Michael Boyd of Raleigh, NC, Steven Boyd of Graeagle, CA, and Danielle Boyd of Graeagle, CA; siblings, Curt (Suzie) Boyd of Denton, TX, Brenda (Stuart) Cazer of Mitchell, SD, Kimberly (Craig) Paulson of Freeman, SD; special friend, Lisa Patton; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
