David Neugebauer was born to Gottfied and Hazel (Goddicksen) Neugebauer on June 17, 1944. He was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran, where he remained an active member until his death. Dave graduated from Parkston High School in 1962, and became a farmer/dairyman until retirement.
On November 3, 1968, Dave married Mary Ann Mattheis, and they were blessed with three sons, Mark, Jay, and Eric who all played an active role in farming as well.
Sports were a highlight in Dave’s life, whether participating in baseball and basketball, or just watching sports on TV - he was a channel surfer and wore out many remotes! Dave will be remembered by many because he liked to make people laugh by sharing stories and jokes.
Serving on community boards was important to Dave, and he always felt he learned a lot as well as made great friends. Dave currently served as a director on the Douglas Electric and East River Electric boards.
Grateful for having shared in his life are the ones who were the most important to him: his wife of 55 years, Mary Ann; sons, Mark and Eric; grandchildren, Will (fiancé Meghan), Grace (fiancé Jack), Hannah, Mason, and Miles; brothers, Ron (Dawn) and Jim (Ellen); and sisters, Carol and Ruth (Bill).
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, son Jay David, and brother-in-law Warren Graf.

He pretty much organized our 1962 PHS reunions and entertained us as well. I'll always remember when he and Mary Ann invited us to the farm after our 20-year reunion for breakfast in the wee hours of the morning! What a treat and what fun! We will miss him forever.
minutes. The Lords blessings with you!!
Many great memories of Dave dating back to the '60s and numerous visits on the way to MN since then. Laughing (always!!), drinking from giant cans of Fosters beer and the scrunched up face he'd make when handed a cup of the espresso I'd always make in Mary Ann's kitchen. Wonderful man, will miss him
