Donald Jenks, 68, of Tripp, SD, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, October 16, 2022, at Avera St. Benedict Health Center in Parkston. A Celebration of Life will be Wednesday, October 19, from 5-7:00 PM at Bittner Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Mitchell at a later date.

Donald Dean Jenks was born August 16, 1954 to Emery and Fern (Plamp) Jenks in Mitchell, SD.  Don attended country school in Lisbon Township, and graduated from Mitchell High School. After high school, he drove truck for many years, worked for Farmers Elevator in Tripp, and later worked for Agland Coop in Parkston until his retirement in 2020.

Don was united in marriage to Marla Winter on April 7, 1979 in Mitchell, SD.

Don enjoyed riding his Harley in his younger years, Caribbean vacations, camping, and ‘70s/’80s rock music. He appreciated a good laugh, and always enjoyed a cold beer or two. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren, Reid and Reagan.

Don is survived by his wife, Marla; son, Casey Jenks; daughter, Carly (Aaron) Willis, grandchildren, Reid and Reagan Willis; sister, Shirley (Marvin) Baumgartel; sisters-in-law, Mary (Rodney) Clarambeau and Mary Jenks; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; mother and father-in-law, Donald and Korlas Winter; brother, Ronnie Jenks; sister, Phyllis Pietz; and brother-in-law, Myron Winter.
