Douglas Puepke, 57, of Parkston, SD, passed away Friday, September 24, 2021, at Avera St. Benedict Hospital in Parkston due to complications from cancer. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Saturday, October 2, at Bittner Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Ethan, SD. Visitation will be from 5-7:00 PM Friday, October 1, at Bittner Funeral Chapel. Arrangements by Bittner Funeral Chapel.
Douglas Walter Puepke was born on February 27, 1964, to Kenneth and Patricia (Carstensen) Puepke in Mitchell, SD.
Doug graduated from Ethan High school and Mitchell Vocational Technical Institute. He spent many years working at Bainbridge Farms and at Hillcrest Farms, and was currently employed by Graphic Packaging in Mitchell.
Doug married Bonnie Florey on June 16, 2001, at Dimock Lake. They have lived on a farm west of Parkston for the past twenty-one years where they enjoyed horseback riding and attending rodeos together. He also enjoyed spending time on his farm caring for his animals, including his dogs, ChuChu and Peppy, and cat, Cottyball.
Doug was a hardworking, kind-hearted husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He would go out of his way to help out anyone, and he will be dearly missed.
Grateful for having shared his life are his loving wife of twenty-one years, Bonnie; mother, Pat Puepke; siblings: Julie Wheeler, Jim Puepke, Don (Melissa) Puepke, and Jody (Don) Henglefelt; and his many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Puepke.
