I am so sorry...
He was such a large part of my life for so many years....
It's hard to think of all of the great times we had together without smiling---although, there were many harrowing days and nights after the car accident---But despite all odds, back he came to us!
Colin, Chris, Dave, Martha, Darci--all of you, I'm so saddened to find him gone, but he will never be far from our hearts..
I recall going to the jeweler with you, Colin, and him, to surprise me with the pair of gorgeous earrings which he had hand picked for me! They are still beautiful--worn often, and reminiscent of a tireless, giving man with a loving soul.
I have so many memories that I can think back upon and smile, There were the interesting times I knew Heaven was watching over us when we were lost in the country with the gas tank hovering on empty, our stomachs hungry--yet in his magical way, we made it to the next town! Often we had no clue where we were in the countryside, but his keen sense of direction got us to where we were meant to land! Eventually!
Through all of the adventures, and scouring of antique stores far and wide, to wallpapering and painting the store in Del Rapids, to the listening to music (a lot of Sara Brightman) and/or reading poetry to one another out of the many books which we'd found in a second hand book store in Omaha--there was a particular fondness and appreciation for many poets, but somehow we found Dorothy Parker the most fun in her sarcasm!
There was drinking wine at my place and talking politics, to our trip to Seattle to be with my family,
I have an endless supply of fine and fond memories to sift through, and he has never been far from my heart....there are many years from which to draw laughter, romantic moments, even through shedding of tears, and more--
.I am so grateful for him.
