Gaila Hooser, 68, of Mitchell, SD, died Wednesday, January 4, 2023, in Mitchell. Visitation will be Thursday, January 12, from 5-7:00 PM at Bittner Funeral Chapel.

Gaila Mae Hooser was born November 27, 1954 to Albert and Dorothy (Walter) Stults in Stromsburg, NE.

Gaila will always be remembered for her love of music, which she passed down to her kids and grandkids. "Music will always take you back to a memory". Gaila had a green thumb as well. She could grow anything. She always wanted a farm to be able to have a large garden and a place big enough for all her kids and grandkids to come visit. Gaila also loved to travel. She had visited many places, but the one destination she always wanted to go to was Greece... Now you can go, Mom...

Gaila is survived by her children, Joy (Shawn) Petersen of Everly, IA, Shawn (Hannah) Holland of Mitchell, SD, and Anita (Blaine) Jones of Brandon, SD; grandchildren: Kogan, Braydn, Christepher, Brody, Molly, Josh, Terrain, Sean, Erin, Jordan, Maeson, Daniel, Zach, Blayne, Kohl, Scarlett, Tucker, Madelyn, Christian, and Ainslie; 3 great-grandchildren, Brianna, Nolan, and Liam; sisters, Donna Walter and0 Diane Houseman both of Mitchell, SD; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Stacy Ehlers; parents, Albert and Dorothy Stults; brother, Jay Stults; sisters, Sharon Iberra and Teresa Lara; one nephew and one brother-in-law.
