One of Geraldyne’s greatest joys in life were her grandchildren and her only great-grandchild, Emerson Grace. Geraldyne loved her family more than anything. She also loved going out to eat with her friends, especially for a good prime rib at her favorite place, Chef Louie’s. She enjoyed attending fall church dinners around the area. One of Geraldyne’s favorite pastimes was birdwatching. Her favorite birds were cardinals and woodpeckers. Geraldyne loved the city of Chicago and the Chicago Bears.

Geraldyne is survived by her son, Thomas Carolin of Crystal Lake, IL; daughter, Heather Adams of Mitchell; grandchildren, Andrew Nicholson, Zachary Carolin (Amber Abruzzo), Trevor Carolin, and Abigail Adams (Croix Erickson); great-granddaughter, Emerson Erickson; and dog, Angel.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Murphy, and her parents.

I am especially thinking of you this Monday as you are bidding farewell to your dear mother and grandmother. We lived in the same apartment building in Mitchell so we shared many "Good mornings!" She always had such a cheerful smile with that greeting. I was a teacher so I know the school secretary is the glue of the school. What an important job your mom had! May God comfort you and give you strength. May memories keep her close always. With sincere sympathy.
