Gregory (Greg) Lynn Kayser was born on December 26, 1956, to Joseph & Mabel (Kewley) Kayser at the St. Joseph’s hospital in Mitchell, SD. He was welcomed as the ninth child of ten. He graduated from Tri-County 151 in 1975. After high school, he attended Mitchell Technical Institute and graduated in May of 1977 with a degree in automotive mechanics.
Greg and Beth (Bruns) Kayser were united in marriage on September 1, 1979, in Spencer, SD. The couple moved to the family farm in rural Alexandria where Greg took over the farming operation. Greg continued to farm alongside his children until his death.
Blessed through their union they welcomed four children: Josh, Kyle, Shay, and Kali. Greg loved being a father and showing his children the importance of hard work.
He enjoyed attending tractor and pickup pulls and playing men’s fast pitch softball, and you could find him tinkering with something at any given time.
Greg took pride in his farm and worked tirelessly to tend to his crops and raising livestock. He had a heart of gold and would help his family and friends regardless of what they needed.
His grandkids were his pride and joy. He loved running around to sporting events, school concerts, church programs & birthday parties.
He was a member of St. John Lutheran church in Emery, SD; and later attended Zion Lutheran Church in Bridgewater, SD.
Grateful for sharing his life are his wife Beth Kayser, Alexandria, SD; son Josh (Kara) Kayser, Alexandria, SD; son Kyle (Krista) Kayser, Emery, SD; son Shay (Amanda) Kayser, Hartford, SD; daughter Kali (Adam) Lingen, Pipestone, MN; thirteen grandchildren: Liberty, Joseph, Maggie, Adrienne, Lane, Wolfgang, Madelyn, Kennedy, Barron, Everett, Knox, Klay, Kane; siblings Bob Kayser, Janie Golder; and many cousins, nieces, nephews & friends.
