Obituary

Jamie Bowen, 47, of Mitchell, SD, passed away Friday, January 30, 2026, at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls. Funeral arrangements are pending under the direction of Bittner Funeral Chapel.

Jamie Lee Bowen was born January 26, 1979, to Robert Sr. and Carol (Lewis) Bowen in Mitchell, SD.

Jamie is survived by his daughter, Bridget Bowen; mother, Carol (Wayne) Carstens; and siblings, Preston (Chili) Bowen of Redlands, CA, Bobby (Sarah) Bowen of Melissa, TX, and Bridget (Greg) Martin of Welches, OR.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Bowen Sr., and brother, Todd Bowen.

I was talking to Jamie and he was sending me special prayers and stuff that he likes on Facebook
. One thing I do know Jamie had a tremendous faith in God, no matter what season of his life. Carol I think in large part that was due to you, you were a wonderful mother and he knew you loved him.
I'm so sorry that I couldn't be there the way you were there for me when my father passed.
Bridget, I know how much this sucks, always remember your Dad loves you and was always so very proud of you.
I love you guys and will be keeping you in our prayers. Take care of yourselves and each other.

So sorry to hear of Jamie's passing. We had a lot of good times back in the day. Although I haven't seen him for many years, I will always remember him for his big heart and all the crazy times we had together. Good guy, gone way too soon. Sending love to all of Bowen's family and friends on behalf of myself and my brother, Aaron Hanson who hopefully met Jamie with a budweiser in heaven.
