It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Jeff Terveen, 52, of Mitchell, SD, who passed away unexpectedly on July 18th, 2026. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, July 24, at First Baptist Church in Emery. Burial will be at Emery Community Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7:00 PM at the church.

Jeffrey “Jeff” Terveen was born February 18, 1974, to Dave and Lynn (Huber) Terveen in Mitchell, SD. He graduated from Emery High School before attending Southeast Tech, where he earned his degree in Graphic Design.

Jeff will always be remembered for his love of the outdoors. An avid hunter and fisherman, he spent many of his happiest hours in the woods, on the water, and sharing his passion for nature with his boys. He was an avid outdoorsman who felt most at peace in the quiet of the wild. In his earlier years, he also enjoyed mud truck racing, embracing the same love of adventure that stayed with him throughout his life.

Above all, Jeff was a devoted father. He loved his sons deeply and was incredibly proud of the men they were becoming. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic. In 1998, he became the owner of Sign Pro in Mitchell, building a business he took great pride in and running it for over two decades. He also enjoyed farming and had several other business ventures throughout his life.

Jeff was also an amazing friend to everyone who knew him. He had a gift for making people feel special, and he was always the first to help anyone in need, never hesitating to lend a hand or a listening ear.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory: his loving sons, Knox and Jett; his former wife, Jamie Goldammer, and stepdaughter, Gia Winger; his parents, Dave and Lynn Terveen; his brother, Todd (Heather) Terveen; his nieces and nephews, Morgan (Tayden) Vandenberg and their sons Caelyn and Colsen, and Rylee Terveen; and many dear friends and extended family members.

While Jeff is no longer with us, the lessons he taught us, the memories we created, and his deep respect for nature will live on in our hearts forever.
