Kathleen Gebel, 62, of Mitchell, SD, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2024, at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Tuesday, November 26, at Bittner Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Mitchell. Visitation will be Monday from 5-7:00 PM at Bittner Funeral Chapel.

Kathy Gebel was born on June 22, 1962, in Mitchell, SD, to Delbert and Margret Toben in Mitchell, SD.

She worked for Shopko for 25 years and later retired from the Post Office after 18 years where she worked as a clerk and trained new employees. She enjoyed special vacations to Yellowstone camping, gardening, and spending time with the kids and grandchildren. For those who knew her, she was a kind, compassionate, and understanding person.

Kathy married Larry on September 12, 1981, at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Mitchell, SD.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Larry; daughter, Tina (Todd) Russell of Stewartville, MN; son, Jesse (Chelsea) Gebel of Albertville, MN; four grandchildren; and three brothers, Robert (Sylvina) Toben of Sioux Falls, John Toben of Mitchell, and Delbert (Lynn) Toben of Sioux Falls.

She is preceded in death by her parents Delbert and Margret Toben; brother-in-law, Dwayne; father-in-law, Jarold Gebel.
