Lisa Carol Bialas was born on April 23, 1955, to Rudolph and Toni (Teasdale) Swanson in Chamberlain, SD. She grew up in Chamberlain and graduated from Chamberlain High School. After high school, Lisa attended Stewarts Beauty School and Mitchell Technical Institute for Business and Accounting.

Lisa was united in marriage to Ivan Jr. Bialas on August 19, 1977. To this union, four children were born.

Lisa loved supporting all her children in their activities. She was the first to arrive, and always in the front row. Lisa had a love for music and made sure that it was a priority for her children to play the piano or another instrument as they grew up. She always enjoyed visits with her grandchildren.

Lisa was a very talented sewer and green thumb gardener. Lisa also loved to cook and bake, especially during the holiday season. Sugar cookies and chimichangas were everyone’s favorite foods that Lisa made. She also enjoyed golfing and bowling, and found joy in kickboxing in her later years of life. During the last year of her life, she loved spending time with her best friend, Marty.

Lisa is survived by her sons, Casey (Holli) of Sioux Falls and Tyson (Julia) of Mt. Vernon; daughters, Danica Proctor of Pinckney, MI; Joslyn (Tyler) Durfee of Sioux Falls; 12 grandchildren; siblings, Ingrid (Ray) Fischer of Ipswich, SD, Sally Swanson (Steve Heckenlaible) of Aberdeen, SD, Lowell (Colleen) Swanson of Pukwana, SD, and Bonnie (Joe) Graeve of Simi Valley, CA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and niece, Jessica Grode.

Sending my sympathy as well to Lisa’s family. So sad to hear this news. What a talented and devoted Mom and Grandma she must have been! Our time together as cousins was mostly at holidays when we were young, and always something we looked forward to. A house full of kids tearing around, parents visiting, and lots of good food and memories! May she be forever in your hearts ♥️
