We (the Gibbons-MT Evers) always looked forward to a visit from Jim and Lois. Jim really chose a special person for his Bride when he found Lois. Lois was a very fun person to be around, hard working, great cook with a beautiful laugh. Like Lois, Jim Fischer and I were both Teachers, and both from small town and country schools...even one room schools. It was very nice to see her teaching career and student recognition reflected in her life story. Jim and I visited at the SD Ranch and later when they moved to town. Those sure are special memories. We are very sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. You did a great job with the memorial, every photo and story reflects the happy and cheerful way that Lois lived her life.

Lois was a godsend to us when chucks mother passed away and we have always treasured her throughout the years. In a way, she became our "anchor" when Eleanor passed away. We will feel her loss deeply, but at the same time we are happy she is with her Jim, Tim, and all her other family. What a treasure she was to everyone who she touched. God bless her and all her wonderful family.

How I wish I could make it to Aunt Lois funeral 🥲. The Milton family was truly blessed to have gotten to know Uncle Jim and Aunt Lois. I will cherish those memories! When I think of Aunt Lois I can see her smile and hear her laugh. Hugs and love to the family. She will be missed. ❤️❤️

Lois was a great mentor as we both started teaching in Mt. Vernon the same year. She was fun to be around and we often exchanged funny stories about what kids said and did. Our sons enjoyed the unique activies Lois provided in the classroom. God bless her and her loved ones.

Oh I loved Lois so much; even though she didn't "smash my taters", made me drink fresh cow milk and gave me a junk brand of oreos!!! Loved spending time at Lois and Jims! Im sure she got so tired of me begging her to yodel every time she was on recess duty!!!

Lois was always smiling, always kind and dedicated to her sons and their families. Many children gained knowledge, and by her example - learned how to show respect and kindness to all. My sympathies to Denny ‘Augie’, Bob and Everett. Tim and Jim were on each side of the pearly gates to welcome Lois.

Lois was more than a cousin to my mom. She was a best friend. Lois and Jim were the best neighbors to have for many years on the farm and in Mitchell. I will miss our visits! She could always make us laugh and was always so positive about everything. She gave the best hugs! Rest in peace Lois!
