Lois was my 5th grade teacher at Eugene Field. She was a special person. She remembered me thru the years. And I will always remember her fondly.

I remember Ms. Podhradsky when I went to Eugene Field in Elementary School. I remember she was always there for her students; was very caring. She touched a lot of student's lives in a positive manner. God bless you Ms. Podhradsky.

Lois and her mom Ann were like family to us kids and my mother growing up in Mount Vernon. They were always willing to offer help to mom ,driving her to doctors appointments and grocery shopping when I was not at home.Lois was such a kind and considerate person and was loved by all who knew her.She is now getting her reward in heaven.

Lois and I taught at the Middle School for many years. She also taught both of my sons. I always appreciated her sense of hard work and, of course, her sense of humor. After we both retired, we lunched weekly with several retired teachers at Culvers . I always enjoyed her conversation and the kindness she showed when driving friends and acquaintances to appointments. Goodbye, my friend!

So sorry to hear of Lois's passing away. She always had a big smile on her face when we met. Hadn't seen her for quite a few years tho. Her and her mom, along with Paul & Bev Roesler were the first ones to hear our happy news that we were adopting a baby girl. Happy memories of revealing that when we visited them that evening. May she rest in Peace. Know that she is in God's arms now.

I taught with Lois at Mitchell Middle School at the beginning of my career. She was kind, caring, and had a great sense of humor. She was a no nonsense type of teacher who expected her students to work to their potential. I enjoyed her many “tips” to success. We will miss her.

Lois was a teacher and colleague with Dorothy Scott (my mother) at Eugene Field Elementary School. I remember taking our 3-year-old son to visit his grandma at school when we came to Mitchell for a visit. Lois would ask him if he could say her last name and he would reply, "I can't say Podhradsky", just a clearly as she has asked it. Lois had a great sense of humor and was a dedicated teacher. She will be missed.

I was privileged and honored to be able to care for Lois at Edgewood. She was also a teacher of mine back in the day. She helped me very much with my math. I helped her with her cares. I just returned the favor. Totally loved her

Lois and I delivered Meals on Wheels years ago. She would drive and I would door dash. Often we would get so caught up in conversation we'd forget what we were doing and where we were going. Every delivery day was a fun adventure with Lois.
