Obituary

LuEtta Kirchhevel, 80, of Mitchell, SD, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2026, at her home under hospice care. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM Tuesday, March 10, at Bittner Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Armour, SD.

LuEtta Mae (Meyer) Kirchhevel was born on November 18, 1945, to Ramey and Arlene (Mehlhaf) Meyer in Armour, SD. LuEtta and Maynard Kirchhevel were married on July 3, 1965. They were married 60 years on July 3, 2025.

LuEtta is survived by her sons, Bruce Kirchhevel of Amarillo, TX, Scott (Trudy) Kirchhevel of Ethan, and Jeremy Kirchhevel of Mitchell; daughters, Monica Sorenson of Mitchell and Bridget Bame of Mitchell; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Maynard; daughter, Carla Kirchhevel; and her parents.
