Margaret Hagerty, 88, of White Lake, SD, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2025, at the Aurora-Brule Nursing Home in White Lake. Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 AM Tuesday, April 22, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in White Lake. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Church. Burial will be at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in White Lake. Arrangements by Bittner Funeral Chapel.

Margaret Elizabeth Hagerty was born May 20, 1936, in Brule County near White Lake, SD, to Emory and Mary (Smith) Jensen. Margaret grew up and lived in White Lake and Kimball her entire life. On June 2, 1952, she married John "Jack" Hagerty.

She was a lifelong housewife and was employed as a cook and laundress for many years at the Aurora-Brule Nursing Home.

Margaret was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, Catholic Daughters, Altar Society, and the White Lake American Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by her five children: John (Sherry) Hagerty, Deb Hagerty, Pat (Dave) Wermers, David (Susie) Hagerty, and Bill (Tammy) Hagerty, eight grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, in April 1999; son, Robert John; two daughters in infancy, Mary Rose and Cynthia Marie; and daughter-in-law, Sandy Kidd.
