On December 12, 1964, Marjorie married the love of her life, Joseph Frank Novak. Together, they raised five children on a farm near Tyndall, South Dakota, before relocating to Mitchell in 2000.

In her quiet time, she took great comfort in reading the Psalms, listening to country music, working on jigsaw puzzles, and crafting beautiful embroidery.  She also loved playing cards, playing pool, shuffleboard, and reading.
