Milce Adams
Dates
July 7, 1951 - April 9, 2025Obituary
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Milce Lynn Adams, a cherished mother, grandmother, and wife at age 73, in Mitchell, SD. She passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025, under hospice care, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on July 7, 1951, in Stickney, SD, Milce Adams was a woman of kindness, strength, generosity, and unwavering love.
Milce Adams dedicated her life to her family, offering constant encouragement, support, guidance, comfort, and unconditional love. She will be remembered for her insatiable cooking skills—she had a gift for turning any dish into something that tasted straight from a five-star kitchen.
Milce was endlessly creative and never hesitated to try something new with her hands. Whether it was sewing, crocheting, knitting, gardening, or—most recently—oil painting in her final year, her creations, like her meals, were made with care and shared generously with those around her.
Milce had a special way of making everyone feel welcome when they walked into a room. Her warmth was genuine, her smile constant, and she always had a story ready—usually about some funny, unexpected thing that only ever seemed to happen to her.
Milce was an administrative assistant, a role in which she truly excelled. Her exceptional attention to detail and natural talent for organization made her a standout in every workplace.
Survived by her children, Kathy (Kelly) Schuh Anderson and Kristy (Jerid) Ackman; grandchildren: Micah Ackman, Riley Schuh, Jacob Schuh, Sara Ackman, and Macey Schuh; sister, Cheryl (Greg) Noem; brother-in-law, Doug (Carol) Adams; sisters-in-law, Patty (Kevin) Kelly and Myrna Adams; numerous nieces and nephews; and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Milce Adams was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Adams; infant son, Kevin Adams; her parents, Johnnie and Peggy Swent; sister, Lisa (Marshal) Uthe; and granddaughter, Ashley Ackman.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Avera@Home Hospice in Milce Adams's memory for her excellent care.
Milce Adams will forever remain in our hearts, a beacon of love and kindness.
Funeral services will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Bittner Funeral Chapel.
I knew Milce well over the years & am saddened to hear that it was time for her to go to her Heavenly Home. She will be missed. She is loved & will be missed.
Sincere Sympathy, Memories eternal
