Obituary

Richard Jennings, 82, of Mitchell, SD, died Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at his home under hospice care in Mitchell. Arrangements are pending under the direction of Bittner Funeral Chapel.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Richad Jennings on April 8th, 2025. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Richard was a hardworking man who dedicated his life to providing for his family and making sure they were taken care of. He will always be remembered for his kindness, generosity and unwavering love. May he rest in peace.

Richard worked as a heavy equipment operator and retired from Operating Engineers Local 9.

Richard is survived by his daughters, Alaine Walden of Ft. Morgan, CO, Richelle Johnson of Westminster, CO, and Nicole Jennings of Mitchell; five grandchildren and two great-granchildren; brother, Mike Jennings of Mitchell; sister Pam Jennings of Denver, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ann; baby girl, Barbara; brothers, Larry and Jack; and sisters, Diane and Mary.

My condolences to Richard's family. I knew him when I was a teenager, hanging out with Mike. He was the older brother, the cool guy! So sorry to hear of his passing.

RIP Richard, My Deepest Sympathy to your family. So glad we got to visit some after. U moved back here. You are now reunited with your Dear Wife, who you missed and loved so much.

So sorry to hear of Richard's passing. He was a very nice man, he bought our home in Parkston and was well liked by everyone. Praying you find peace.
