I was one of Richard's teachers when he was 12-13 years old in Ethan S.D. It was my first teaching job. I have always remembered him along with four other students I worked with there. He tried hard, enjoyed having fun, and had a good heart. He taught me that I had to look at the whole child, not just the academics, and teach students where they were at and celebrate their wins. Thank you Richard.

I worked with Richard at Dakota Pork, and at AKG. I thought he was a very quiet, private nice person willing to help you out if he could . I will deeply miss him like everyone else that knew him. God bless him and the family. All we can do is remember the memories. He doesn't have to suffer anymore. He is in a better place now. GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN. Rest in peace my friend

Richard was my neighbor on 6th street for many years. The neighborhood won't be the same without him. He always kept an eye on what was going on. He was a man with few words, until you took the time to have a conversation with him. Once this happened it was hard to get away. A hard working guy who never complained about anything, even though he suffered greatly with cancer. I pray he is reunited with his family in Heaven and having a Diet Coke with his dad. He will be missed but not forgotten.
