Robert Hall, 85, of Mitchell, SD, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2024, in Gatesville, TX. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Saturday, March 2, at Bittner Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at Servicemen’s Memorial Cemetery in Mitchell. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7:00 PM at Bittner Funeral Chapel.

Robert Leland Hall was born on June 13, 1938, in Stanton, Nebraska to Donald and Margaret (Strope) Hall. They moved to Mitchell in 1946. He graduated from Mitchell High School and then served in the United States Navy and National Guard. He married Carol Ann Moore in 1961, and created their family home in Loomis, South Dakota in 1968. Robert remained there until he moved to Texas in 2016. He passed peacefully at Hillside Medical Lodge.

Robert is survived by his sons, Roger William and Donald Dewight; daughter, Teresa Schaaf and husband, Gary; grandchildren, Kimberlyn Ann Schaaf and Bruce Robert Schaaf and wife, Alicia; and great-grandchildren, Bryden Leland Schaaf and Barrett Lee Schaaf.

He was preceded in death by his wife Carol; parents, Donald and Margaret Hall; brothers, Donald Dewight and Russell Dean; and sister-in-law, Beverly.
