Obituary

Ruth Olsen, 86, of Mitchell, SD, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2026, at her home under hospice care. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, November 10, at Zion Lutheran Church in Mitchell. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Mitchell. Visitation will be Monday from 5-7:00 PM at the church, with a 6:30 PM prayer service. Arrangements by Bittner Funeral Chapel.

We have many fond memories of Cal & Ruth when they lived in Chamberlain SD-each year a Christmas decoration is hung on our tree made by Ruth when we were in Jaycettes together. Our sympathy & prayers to the Olsen Family .

My husband and I sang with Ruth in the church choir for several years. In recent years, Calvin & Ruth sat right behind us at church services. I admired how they were in church ever week despite health issues. Gods blessings and sympathy to their family.

Sympathies to the family. We met Cal and Ruth 10 years ago enjoyed their company, enjoyed our Wednesday lunch. It will be sad and lonely without them for Wednesday lunch. Prayers to the family .

I am so sorry for the loss of your parents just within days of each other. I worked with Ruth at the Methodist Hospital child care center and then later sang with her in the Sweet Adeline chorus. She was a sweet lady with a bright and shining smile. Cal was always willing to step in a and help with anything we needed when putting on our annual Sweet Adeline show

We are at loss for words, Ruth was a wonderful neighbor
and friend with her careing and hopitality. We shared many hours visiting and shareing a cup of tea. Her delightful prsonality and fun loving spirit will be missed. I know her loving spirit is with the Lord and that gives me comfort.
