Sharon Margaret (Tietz) Bauer was born on December 24, 1941, in Alexandria, South Dakota, to Leonard and Irene Tietz. She attended a small country school before marrying Earl (Dean) Bauer. Together, they started their family in South Dakota and eventually moved to Minnesota, where she raised her sons while working for many years as a dedicated employee.
Outside of work, Sharon enjoyed traveling, and her refrigerator was full of magnets to remember all the places she had visited. She also loved listening to country & western music and attending live shows. While she enjoyed traveling and seeing new places, she was always happiest at home, surrounded by the comfort of familiar things and the people she loved.
Sharon treasured visits from family and loved having everyone together. Her home was often filled with loved ones gathering to celebrate her birthday and Christmas Eve, which held special meaning as her birthday fell on Christmas Eve. She had a way of making everyone feel welcome, comfortable, and loved. Her sons remember her as a loving, hardworking, and strong woman whose dedication to her family will never be forgotten.
She is survived by her sons, Justin (Sheryl) Bauer, Larry (Juli) Bauer, and Myron (Kellie) Bauer; sister, Karen Sonne; brother, Arlyn Tietz; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Earl “Dean” Bauer; son, Scott Bauer; her parents; sisters, Marjo and Norma Jean; grandson, Thomas Bauer; and her great-grandson, Jordan Yenor.
Sharon will be remembered for her strength, her hard-working spirit, and the love she had for her family. The memories made together, the birthdays and holidays celebrated, and the time spent in her home will be cherished by those who knew and loved her for years to come.
