Wayne Pearson, 68, of Mitchell, SD, died Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at Firesteel Healthcare Center in Mitchell. A visitation will be Friday, June 10, from 5-7:00 PM at Bittner Funeral Chapel with a 6:30 PM prayer service.

Wayne Eugene Pearson, or “Killer” as he was more commonly known, was born on February 22, 1954, to Norman and Faye (O’Neal) Pearson in Mitchell, SD. He grew up in Mitchell and graduated from Mitchell High School in 1972. After high school, he spent time traveling cross-country and sightseeing, before returning to his hometown to settle down.

Wayne had four children with his long-time partner, Debbie Rath: Killan, Tayla, Tawny, and Kami. He had five grandchildren. Tayla had Katana (14), Kiana (11), Wren (8), and Willow (4). Tawny had Owen (11).

Anyone who knew Killer knew he was a hard worker. He spent his life in the construction trade with expertise in paving, concrete, and carpentry. He was a skilled craftsman who worked as a foreman for many years. He loved the outdoors, the sun on his back, bare feet, and beach days. He was a history and trivia buff with a quick wit. He was a man of few words but never failed to make people laugh. Killer was a free spirit who is now flying free.

Following the deaths of his mother, father, and sisters Lori Ann and Lynda, Wayne is survived by his children and grandchildren, his brother Dennis, and countless other friends and family members.
