William “Bill” Wiersma, 90, of Mitchell, SD, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at Aurora-Brule Nursing Home under hospice care in White Lake. Private family burial will be at Graceland Cemetery in Corsica. Arrangements by Bittner Funeral Chapel.

Bill was born on September 2, 1935, to Ben and Minnie (Beukelman) Wiersma at Corsica, South Dakota. He worked on the farm with his brother Andrew and later moved to Mitchell. He then enjoyed going to Marlin’s for coffee and spending time at his nephew's farm near Ethan. He did yard work, painted, and spent time in his camper.

Bill is survived by his nieces, Sharon (Howard) Weischedel of Plankinton, SD, Janice (Ron) Junge of Rapid City, SD, and Connie (Bob) Bruske of Ethan, SD; and nephew, Larry Neugebauer of Ethan, SD

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Jennetta (Lewis) Neugebauer and Francis (Raymond) Holzhauser; brothers, Andrew (Wanda) Wiersma and Arie (Evelyn) Wiersma; an infant brother; and nephew, Roger (Kathy) Neugebauer.
